"Hiccup, hiccup!" Pigaroo said even louder, and he laughed. What fun it was being rude. He was never going to be polite again.

Pigaroo ran on and on until his hiccups were gone. He looked around him and found that he had at last come to the old tree where Bees-wax' hive was. The hive was in a hollow of the tree, at just the right height for Pigaroo's snout.

"I'll just look right in," Pigaroo told himself, "and see if Bees-wax has any honey to spare."

Pigaroo poked his face right in through the hive doorway. Then he felt something sharp stick into his snout. Pigaroo's eyes crossed and then filled with tears. He pulled his face out of the hive quickly.

"Ouch!" he said very, very loudly.

A bee buzzed angrily out of the hive, but she stopped when she saw Pigaroo. "Oh, it's you, Pigaroo," said Bees-wax, a worried look on her face. "I thought you were someone trying to steal my honey. My friends always knock. I'm so sorry I stung you. Does it hurt much?"

"No," said Pigaroo, trying not to cry. "I'd better go home now."

"I'm so sorry," said Bees-wax, waving goodbye. "But next time, Pigaroo, please knock first."
